“RACE, BEING & PURITY”

Michael Monahan and Clevis Headley will discuss aspects of Monahan's 2010 book: The Creolizing Subject: Race, Reason, and the Politics of Purity .

The focus of this discussion will be largely on the question of the ontology of race - i.e., how ought we understand the reality (or lack thereof) of race, and what implications might this have for our understanding of racism and our political efforts toward anti-racism
